Top 4 Korean Golf YouTube Channels Perfect for Beginners
Top 4 Korean Golf YouTube Channels Perfect for Beginners
Golf channels are everywhere—both in South Korea and around the world.
However, if you’re a total beginner looking to truly enjoy the game—maybe you’ve been inspired by all the viral golf tips on TikTok or want to up your swing game before hitting Topgolf—watching random match videos or famous celebrities’ swings might not be the most efficient approach.
When it comes to practice, it’s usually best to pick one pro whose style resonates with you and focus on their lesson videos. Consistency is key for beginners, especially if your goal is to eventually share your progress on Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts. Trying one tip from here and another tip from there can cause confusion: “Is this actually correct?”
I’m still not capable of juggling multiple techniques, so I keep it simple with a few selected pros. I’ll watch their lesson videos repeatedly for study, while keeping the more entertaining clips on the side (great for a quick break at work or while commuting).
1. 임진한클라스 (Lim Jin-han Class)
Subscribers: 516K (as of January 22, 2025)
Operated by renowned Korean golf coach Lim Jin-han, this channel offers golf lessons and a wide variety of golf-related content. Lim Jin-han turned pro and boasts six career victories (five in Korea and one overseas). He’s also coached numerous professional golfers, such as Yang Yong-eun, Heo Seok-ho, Jang Ik-je, Mo Joong-kyung, Bae Sang-moon, Lee Mi-na, and Park In-bee.
Three years ago, the channel featured a fun round of golf with actress Son Ye-jin. Of course, for a beginner like me—who can’t even think about heading to a full round anytime soon—it’s best to stick to swing lesson videos first.
From the channel’s playlist, the 골프 레시피 (Golf Recipe) series seems the most beginner-friendly. It even covers how to grip your club properly. Among the channel’s highest-viewed content, these “Golf Recipe” lessons attract a lot of “골린이” (golf newbies) viewers—over 4.21 million views on one video!
Lim Jin-han’s style is like having a friendly uncle who calmly guides you step by step. Definitely recommended for anyone hoping to show off a smoother swing on their next PGA Tour 2K match with friends or when attempting a “Longest Drive Challenge” (a trending hashtag among golf enthusiasts in the U.S.).
2. 박하림프로 (Park Ha-rim Pro)
Subscribers: 655K
Whereas Lim Jin-han Pro’s channel contains more field footage and guest appearances, Park Ha-rim Pro’s channel is heavily lesson-focused. There are both free and paid lesson programs (the paid package is around 350,000 KRW). She also runs a golf shopping mall: HGolfCompany.
The channel’s most-viewed video reached 2.6 million views:
“Your left arm will definitely stay straight…”
Her lessons cover everything from driver tips, irons, grip fundamentals, and even overseas golf trips—great for anyone from beginners to intermediate players. For total rookies like me, learning the basics like how to hold the club is probably the best first step.
Golf sure isn’t easy, but if you’re aiming to create content for your “Golf Progress Journey” on TikTok, or if you dream of playing like Tiger Woods in a casual round at your local club, her practical, variety-filled approach might just keep you motivated.
3. 프로허석 (Pro Golfer Heo)
Subscribers: 632K
The channel banner reads “출근길 레슨 (Lessons for Your Commute),” and indeed, new videos drop every Monday and Thursday at 8 AM—a perfect watch during your subway or train ride. Occasionally, there are live streams in the evening, ideal for your post-work commute.
Pro Heo’s swing mechanism explanations are detailed yet surprisingly easy to grasp—though getting your body to cooperate might be another story. His calm tone and thorough instruction from multiple angles have earned him a large following.
A notable video with 1.29 million views is titled, “동종업계 프로님들 죄송합니다. 그냥 다 풀겠습니다 (Apologies to Fellow Pros, I’m Revealing Everything).” It gives off a vibe of real, no-holds-barred offline lessons.
Personally, I feel the newer videos have even better quality, despite their lower view counts. Beginners have so many questions—how high to raise your hands on the backswing, how far to turn your torso, how much to bend the elbows, where to focus your gaze, how level your shoulders should be—and Pro Heo’s numerous videos cover them bit by bit.
His YouTube Shorts are also quite popular. They’re short but packed with valuable tips—perfect for an afternoon scroll alongside Instagram Reels or to share with your golf buddies via Facebook Groups.
4. 탈골스윙 (Dislocated Swing)
I initially planned to introduce just three channels, but here’s one more.
Operated by Pro Na Byung-gwan, this channel breaks down golf swing principles and improvement methods in detail, often earning praise from amateur golfers.
If you’re someone deeply immersed in golf (or a newly obsessed player looking to go big on social media), it’s definitely worth checking out.
This video has 2.36 million views, featuring a junior golf lesson. As a beginner, some parts are still beyond my level, but the way he explains—lively and engaging—keeps me watching to the end.
